Many people look at tanned skin as healthy and gorgeous that’s why more and more people are being convinced to tan. They are hooked and it is becoming inevitable to many because they find it as a self-confidence booster. Many people also are looking for places to sunbathe because they are after the Vitamin D that they get from the sun.
After a fresh sunbathing from the beach, skin care is very much necessary to ease skin redness and recover the skin from dehydration. Here are some tips to care for your skin as well as your hardly earned tan.
- Rehydrate your skin
The first and foremost and most important thing to consider after a long hour of soaking under the sun is to rehydrate your skin. Rehydrate inside and out.
- Drink plenty of water, juice or coconut water to replenish the lost water inside due to extreme heat. Coconut water substitutes lost electrolytes too. Good hydration brings back your skin’s softness and suppleness. If you just let your skin dry, it will eventually develop fine lines and wrinkles or you may suffer premature skin aging.
- After soaking on the beach, you have to rinse well to remove the salt or chlorine on your skin. Salt or chlorine keeps your skin dry so take a shower or take a bath. Use cool water when showering because hot baths can dehydrate your skin. On your preceding showers or bath, spread all over your body to lock-down your color from easily fading.
- After hydrating inside, you have to hydrate outside too. Apply moisturizer on your skin to replenish its lost moisture. Moisturizer does not only help your skin to become healthy, it also boosts your tan making it looking healthier.
- Protect your tan
Every tan lover would probably love to prolong their hardly earned tan. After taking shower and every after taking a bath apply enough amount of sun block on your skin to protect you from harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. ProTecTan by Thermalabs is best recommended because it has SPF 30 and enriched with Vitamin E, a vitamin for the skin and Vitamin B5 for added moisture.
- Do not scrub
After few days of sunbathing, your skin will start to peel. It’s the time you have to exfoliate but be careful in exfoliating. Do not use harsh soap or do not scrub your skin. Gently exfoliate to remove the dead layer to unleash the new tanned skin.
