Looking for a shade is very much important to protect yourself from the harmful UV radiation of the sun. It is one of the best sun protections you can ever have aside from your clothing and sunscreen with sun protection factor (SPF). If you are an adventure buff who loves camping anywhere, a tent is must for an adventurer like you.
If you plan to purchase a beach tent try to consider the following factors to help you decide what kind of shade are you going to buy because it is not always easy to find what has many beneficial features and can be used in different getaways.
- Where are you going to use the tent
First thing to consider is the area or location where you will mostly use the tent. If you are fund of camping, hiking, mountaineering, beach camping and many other rain or shine getaways and adventures, you better opt for a tent that is multi-purpose and easy to use because there are tents that are not waterproof and do not have UV protection feature. Non-waterproof tents are ideal on parks, back gardens or picnic areas where you will not stay long in the area.
- The materials used in the tent
The material used in the tent is one of the most important things to consider when buying a beach tent. The more solid the shade structure is, the better the protection it can give. But if you are planning to buy a foldable beach tent because it is more comfortable to carry, see to it that the fabric has Ultraviolet Protection Factor feature of 30 or more. UPV is similar to the SPF of sunscreens. If the fabric of the tent has 30+ UPF, it means it only allows 1 out of 30 UV radiations to pass through the garment. Thus, the higher the UPF of the fabric, the stronger the protection against UV radiation it provides.
- The structure of the tent
The structure and the size of the tent is another big factor to consider when buying a tent. First consider how many members are going to stay inside the tent and do you have enough space in your car to put this tent. Can this be put up by girls only just in case it’s an all-girls adventure? There are four major types of beach tents to choose from which include Pop Up Beach Tents, Cabana Beach Tents, Canopy Tents, and Baby Beach Tents.
